Welcome to the LAW OFFICES OF RICK ADDICKS. I draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance health care directives, handle real estate matters and transactions, negotiate contracts, assist with probate and trust administrations, set up businesses, and otherwise serve my clients' legal needs.

I am an attorney, a real estate broker, and a notary public. I grew up in San Francisco and Marin, and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, with distinction, in 1988. I then went to law school at the University of San Francisco, where I served as Articles Editor of the U.S.F. Law Review and graduated with a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, in 1992. Following law school, I clerked for United States Magistrate Judge Wayne D. Brazil, and worked with the Federal Public Defender in Oakland, California, before beginning my solo practice in 1997.

Not your ordinary attorney, I also serve as a full-time professional Firefighter/Engineer with the Ross Fire Department in Ross, California, am an active member of the Marin County Urban Search and Rescue Team - Regional Task Force 1 and California OES Swift Water Flood Rescue Team 11, and sit on the executive board of IAFF Local 1775, Marin Professional Firefighters.

My community service has spanned from pro bono legal work for local environmental causes to international human rights work for unlawfully imprisoned monks and nuns in Tibet.

I have traveled the world extensively, now have two wonderful children attending the Novato Charter School, and love to camp, surf, sail, and play guitar and mandolin whenever time permits.
